LED lighting is a very important topic in the interior designer community and it was finally discussed in New York City by the designers Daniel Rybakken and Francisco Gomez Paz. According to Dezeen, the designers “discussed their latest chandeliers as well as the challenges and opportunities of LED lighting in this talk Dezeen hosted for Luceplan in New York.”
Dezeen founder and editor-in-chief Marcus Fairs was the responsible for moderating this talk in Soho that happened during New York design week.
Both designers have created their own new chandeliers for the Italian lighting brand (Luceplan), and they talked about LED technology, that they believe and admit that “has instigated a revolution in the lighting industry over the past five years.”
Luceplan is a lighting company that was set up with the object of creating and producing interior and exterior lighting and to enhance the quality of living. Energy saving is a top priority and cannot be confined to the ratio of lighting to energy consumption: it must embrace the environmental compatibility of the whole operation. The company believes that if an object is to last, it needs to be beautiful as well as technologically sound. But a long-lasting product also offers better environmental compatibility and it outlives fashions.
