Inventing new ways to make lighting design a sustainable reality has been a concern for designers for the past few years, especially for the Stickbulb team.
Co-founded in 2012 by Russell Greenberg, and Christopher Beardsley, Stickbulb stated that “it is every architect’s dream to build with light“. And so, they did it. Because according to the team “the Stickbulb collection takes this aspiration literally”.
But how does this makes lighting design sustainable?
For starters, their team only uses and considers designs that can realistically be manufactured locally and affordably.
Second of all, only reclaimed and sustainably sourced woods are used as a primary building material, and only sourced energy efficient LED technologies and components are chosen to be used in their designs.
And lastly, all the pieces are designed to possess the least number of parts possible, “with connections that make the pieces easy to separate for maintenance, recycling, or reuse“.
Now let’s get to know their X Collection’s amazing X Light Table
This ingenious piece of lighting by Stickbulb’s X Collection is both a super trendy modern floor lamp and… a great side table for your living room or bedroom. However, taking into consideration what we now know about Stickbulb, I’m sure that this doesn’t come as a surprise: a piece that can not only is the embodiment of sustainability but can also serve multiple purposes. Perfect!
